Annual Concert 2024 - The Theatre at the Mill
Our Annual Concert was held on Saturday 20th April 2024 and provided a rich variety of entertainment. We were joined by the Chamber Choir of Ballyclare High School who sang three items. There were four soloists from the school. One on piano, one on violin and two lads having fun on trombones. All of these young musicians performed to an high standard. Opening the second half of the concert was Dynamic Brass who entertained the audience with a diverse selection of pieces.
Ballyclare Male Choir performed fourteen pieces and we were delighted to introduce our newly appointed Conductor, Sheelagh Greer, on this her first performance in this role with the choir. Sheelagh holds many awards for her contribution to music in the province and we are fortunate that in her busy career, she has committed herself to the choir for the forseeable future. Our first concert with her in charge is an indication of the great things that are to come.
The images below will convey how much the evening was enjoyed by BMC members!

90th Anniversary Concert
Our 90th Anniversary Concert was held at The Theatre At The Mill, Newtownabbey on Saturday 22nd April 2023. The theatre was filled to capacity as we presented a wide repertoire of our music from across the decades. This was a first Annual Concert for our Conductor Keith Acheson and he was ably supported from the piano by our wonderful Accompanist Sheelagh Greer. The choir gave a sparkling performance and we were joined by the Celtic Tenors who continued to entertain our audience with their unique style of performance. We concluded the concert with a joint and rousing performance of Ireland's Call, arranged for TTBB by our own Accompanist/Deputy Conductor, Sheelagh Greer.

90th Anniversary Celebration Service
Second Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church - Sun 12 March 2023
Our 90th Anniversary Celebration Service at Second Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church was on Sunday 12th March 2023 at 7.00 pm. It was a pleasure to be joined by The Clare Chorale (TCC) who were celebrating their 20th anniversary.
Ballyeaston is the home church of Albert McClenaghan who founded Ballyclare Male Choir (BMC) in 1933. He was the precentor at the church for many years and the memorial window in the church, dedicated by his family and friends, had a spray of flowers from our choir to mark this special occasion.
We are grateful to Rev. Chris Glover and the Session of Second Ballyeaston for allowing us to join with them in their evening service to mark this milestone and our thanks go to the ReachOut team for a marvellous supper, complete with celebration cake.
Thank you also to Connor McQuillan for playing the organ, to our conductor Keith Acheson, to Darren Day, accompanist of The Clare Chorale and to Sheelagh Greer, the link between the two choirs. Sheelagh is the Accompanist for BMC and Conductor for TCC. It was a great pleasure to hear the combined choirs singing the Vesper, ‘God Be With You ‘Til We Meet Again’ and, after supper, to sing jointly, ‘The Battle Hymn of the Republic’.
The theme of the service was ‘Sing and Make Music’ with an offering in aid of Second Ballyeaston Ministry of Music.
